What do we offer / Business Lines
Technology
Inalp, as a deep-tech company, researches and develops various generic Technologies for the IOT-Access market space. “Generic” means that the technologies can be applied to many different applications and markets. Thus, the Technology business line does not only address the IOT-Access market.
Solutions
Unlike Inalp’s generic Technologies, the Solutions of Inalp address specific applications like, for instance, networking home workers and branch offices to a simple to manage enterprise network or an application for monitoring and managing the infrastructure in buildings.

Services
Inalp offers the competences of its team to customers in general, for example in the form of consulting or custom Software and Hardware design. However, preferably, Inalp offers such services in conjunction with Inalp’s own Technologies or Solutions.

Distribution
Over the last 25 years, Inalp has built-up excellent relations to more than 50 telecom operators, service providers and system integrators. This vast network of relation allows Inalp to resell all technologies, which are part of Inalp’s Solution bundles. We do not only sell products – we represent our partners.

Incorporation of Inalp Networks AG
Inalp Networks AG is founded by Andreas Danuser with the goal to build and market technology and products for converged IP networks (transport of data, voice and video). -
1999
SmartNode SN1200
Inalp’s first multi-service access router, which connects ISDN telephony equipment to IP networks, is market launched in the European market. Additional products like the SN1400 and the SN2300 are following, promoting Inalp as a market leader for ISDN over IP. -
2000
Crash of the dot-com bubble
Unfortunately, the crash of the dot-com bubble breaks down the adoption of new technologies for building converged IP networks as well as investments in these technology sectors. Inalp ends up in a distressed situation but can continue operation on a smaller scale. -
2002
Partnership with Patton Electronics
The strong technology competences of Inalp regarding ISDN, VoIP and multi-service access routing attracts the attention of established technology companies, who want to extend their business into the converged IP and Europe. Finally, Inalp Networks AG in Switzerland and Patton Electronics Inc. in USA join forces to address the SmartNode product family world-wide. -
2002-2022
Deployment of n x 100k units
The SmartNode product line becomes renown and establishes amongst the leaders in this market segments resulting in hundreds of thousands of units installed in carrier and service provider networks. Due to its true Swiss quality, many of those units reach a lifetime of ten or more years. -
2022
Corona & supply chain disruptions
The Corona crisis followed by the world-wide supply chain disruptions lead to bankruptcy of Patton Electronics Inc. This forces Inalp to fundamentally restructure its business and re-invent itself. -
2023
IOT focus with SwarmGuard®
The growing adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) as well as the increasing need for secure overlay networks interconnecting sensors with servers and applications shall be the next target for Inalp. The first related product, i.e. SwarmGuard®, is presented attracting the interest of major industry leaders and propelling Inalp into related market segments. -

SIOT® integration
Inalp brings in additional competences regarding IoT and creates the SIOT® product offering, which, in combination with SwarmGuard®, leads to a portfolio of products that pave the way for building a scalable, secure and distributed infrastructure for mission-critical applications.
